I always heard that words have power, but for the longest time, I couldn’t grasp what the truly meant or now it played out in real life.
I remember searching for answers-desperate to find a way to change my negative thought patterns. One day, at a thrift store, I stumbled upon a book and a set of tape recordings. I had no idea who Dr. Wayne Dyer was at the time, but I brought them anyway. The book was You Can Heal your life by Louise Hay.
For a month, they stay untouched on my nightstand. Then on particularly bad day. I picked it up – and everything changed.
So much resonated. I saw for the first time; just how much I was broken. But more importantly, I learned there was help.
Help in the way I spoke to and about myself.
I decided to try one of Louise Hay’s mirror work exercises, where you look yourself in the eyes and affirm:
“I love and approve of myself”
At first, it felt uncomfortable. But the more I practiced, the more I realized how much these simple words lifted my outlook on life.
It didn’t happen overnight. But with affirmations, intention, and time, I came to understand just how powerful words are.
Every negative thought I spoke was a negative affirmation, reinforcing old wounds, beliefs and programming that kept me stuck in survival mode. But now I see that I am not a victim – I am someone who is learning to break patterns and loops. I am choosing to accept what was, while being open to change.
That’s why I started my social media accounts- during a time of deep transition. I wanted to share what I was learning, to be a light for others the way Louise Hay and Dr. Wayne Dyer were for me.
But somewhere along the way, I got caught up in the numbers – the saves, the shares, the analytics. And when things didn’t perform well, it affected my motivation.
I’ve since shifted my mindset, reminding myself why I started in the first place:
To be a source of motivation for those who need a light on their path.
If even one person finds hope in my words, if even one persons realizes they are not alone, then I have fulfilled my purpose.
So, I continue speaking life over myself and my journey-because words matter. And I hope in some way, my words help you remember that yours do too.
Words to Live By
Throughout my journey these affirmations have been my anchor-guiding me back to trust, reminding me of my power, and helping me reshape my reality:
From Dr. Wayne Dyer:
” You create your thoughts. Your thoughts create your intentions, and your intentions create your reality.”
From Louise Hay:
“All is well. Everything is working out for my highest good. Out of this situation only good will come . I am safe.”
These words have carried me through moments of doubt and transformation. And now I share them with you- because your words, your thoughts, and intentions have the power to shape your life too.
