My honest answer is the smartphone. Not because its ” bad”, but because it has quietly shifted how we move through the world.

Everywhere I go, grocery stores, parking lots, restaurants, even simple walks, people are locked into their screens. Eyes down. Attention elsewhere. Those little human interactions that used to happen naturally, have faded.

I miss when phones were tools instead of companions. I even miss my old Blackberry; you checked it when you choose to. Now it feels like the smartphone checks us.

And while I am grateful for the connection and convenience it gives, I also try to keep it in my purse when I am out in the world. You never know what you might miss when your eyes are up, the moment, the people, the simple beauty of being present.

For me it’s not about rejecting technology its about choosing to be here while I’m here.

Your answer is so relatable and on point, serenity. When I’m out, I sometimes left my phone. When I go to nature, phone is always with me because I like taking pics. However, a few moments of offscreen is so refreshing. When I’m in town, I am never glued to my phone. I observed people.

What a great response. I feel exactly the same. Let’s keep the phone as a tool and not it rule!
