Part 6

When I first said people are broke in a currency they don’t know exists. I wasn’t talking about money.

I was talking about steady.

Before you dismiss that as soft or abstract, something that doesn’t apply to real bills or real pressure … let me explain.

The Wrong Currency

For years, I spent myself on hustle, urgency, overcommitting, overextending, performance, and control. I thought that’ what effort looked like. That’s what ambition looked like. That’s what capable adults did.

So, I paid in those currencies. I paid with my nervous system, always braced, scanning for what might go wrong. I paid with my time, filling every quiet moment because slowing down felt dangerous. I paid with my peace, outsourcing it to validation, to achievement, to “if I just do enough.”

And I told myself I was winning.

But I was broke.

Not because I was trying hard enough.

Because I was spending a currency that left me empty, no matter how much I earned.

What Steady Actually Is

Steady isn’t a vibe.

It’s an action.

It’s a shower on a hard day. It’s sitting in your closet instead of immediately texting someone to fix you.

It’s three dots in your journal instead of fourteen days of mental rehearsal.

It’s landing one plane instead of keeping nineteen tabs open in your head.

Its shoulders down.

Breath regulated. Choosing your pace and not abandoning it.

That’s steady.

And when you have it, you stop measuring your worth by how much you carry. You start measuring it by whether you can still hold yourself.

Everything changes.

What it means to be Wealthy in Steady

Being rich in steady doesn’t mean storms stop. It means you stop collapsing inside them.

It means when life gets hard and it will, you don’t abandon yourself.

You breathe, you sit, you land one plane.

That’s wealth.

Not the kind you deposit in a bank. The kind that lets you recognize yourself in the mirror.

The kinds that build self-trust and regulate your nervous system. Lets you walk through life without bracing for impact.

That’s the currency that matters.

What it means to be Broke in Steady

Being broke in steady looks like hustle culture.

Urgency. Performance. Control.

Its measuring your day by how overwhelmed you are and calling it productivity.

Its grinding yourself down and telling yourself it’s worth it when you feel empty.

It’s valuing speed over clarity. Busyness over presence. Doing over being.

And the cost ?

Your peace. Your body. Your self-trust. And you can be busy and broke at the same time.

You can be successful and still bankrupt in the same currency that sustains you.

The One Thing

If you take one thing from this series.

Steady is not weakness.

It’s wealth.

It’s the turtle winning not because he was slow, but because he didn’t abandon his pace.

It’s walking through storms at your own speed and still making it to the other side.

It’s slowing down just enough to recognize yourself when you get there.

The Invitation

I’m not asking you to overhaul your life overnight.

I’m just asking you to land one plane tomorrow.

Just one.

Steady isn’t a goal. It’s a rhythm . Unlearning urgency. Releasing hustle as identity. Choosing clarity over chaos.

Slow down. Not dramatically. Not forever. Just enough to see clearly.

Don’t abandon your pace.

Don’t abandon yourself.

Shoulders down, breath regulated … one plane.

You are the only person in your body; you have the tools you need. You just have to slow down long enough to use them.

Steady is a currency most people don’t know they are broke in.

Now you know.

And knowing is the first deposit.

The second: One breath. One step. One plane.

Welcome to Steady ✨
