” Every experience I have benefits me. I am in the process of positive changes.” ~Louise Hay
We often hear about the victories – new chapters, goals reached, and manifestations fulfilled. But what about the in-between? The tender, unseen spaces where we are still becoming? Growth isn’t just in the outcome. It lives in the moments we choose to stay soft, stay grounded, and keep showing up when it would be easier to shut down or give up.
This is a reflection on those moments. The quiet ones that shape us.
The Beauty in the Breakdown
Not every moment is magical. Some are murky, confusing, uncomfortable. But those moments are rich with insight.
Recently I experienced a hard truth. A family member – someone I had supported through countless questionable life choices – lashed out with words that cut deep. Words rooted in their own pain, but directed at me.
I had to sit with it. Breathe. Cry. Write. And sit some more. Hurt doesn’t always dissolve in a single breath.
The release didn’t come instantly or easily. But eventually, in stillness, I found clarity. I chose to let go. Not out of anger- but out of love for myself. I released my need to carry their burden or fix their path. I choose peace. I allowed them the space to grow on their own timeline. Without using me as a verbal punching bag, this was hard, but it was necessary. And in that choice, I reclaimed my peace.
Moment to Moment Awareness
The journey is both complex and simple.
Every moment offers the chance to be aware of our emotions and move accordingly. There are so many variables – our past, our patterns, other people’s energy – but the power lies in that awareness. In choosing a different response.
Some days that response is breath. Some days its silence. And other days, it’s a firm no more.
Whatever it is, it’s yours. And that is the most sacred part of the process.
Lessons over Endings
We grow through what we go through.
We don’t skip to the good part. We become the good part by walking through the lessons. The clarity, the courage, the compassion – they are born in the fire, not after it.
So yes, celebrate your wins. But also honor the spaces in-between. That’s where your becoming is happening.
You are not behind. You are not broken. You are becoming.
The journey doesn’t need to be polished to be sacred. It needs to be yours. Embrace it all – the cracks, the clarity, the questions and the quiet wins. You are not just walking around toward something greater – you already enough – moment by moment.
Journal prompt: Think of a time when you showed up for yourself during a hard moment. What helped you shift? What truth did you discover in that space?
